Hackers are everywhere and they are always on a hunt for a weak point to exploit. So it is wise to keep your security strong to keep potential threats away from your system and be more secure online.

And here are some simple tips on how you can do just that and reduce the risk of hackers get into the system or get hands on sensitive information.

1.Stay away from phishing.

It’s no wonder that phishing is on top of the list because it is the method most hackers use to get into a users info. For beginners it is a type of social engineering in which the hacker tricks a user into clicking malicious that seems to look legit.

These attacks are usually done by sending emails or links through social medias these can be identified by poor grammar and lack of professionality. For example, such messages might claim that your account has been hacked, that you need to confirm a card payment quickly.

If you fall for these cheap tricks you will expose your login details and other details such as personal info and payment details to the hackers. In that case the hackers will be able to gain access without even you realizing and they will be able to do what ever it is that they intend to.

In order to prevent this from happening always be aware of what pages you visit and what info you feed in.And in case you you own a organization or is a part of one phishing staff course to help them identify scams.

2.Make sure the network is secure.

Not often do people care about the security level of the internet connection they are connected via.We are not talking about your home and work connection which will be secure for the most part. It’s the public WiFi hot-spots present in places like cafes, hotels and other public areas.

These WiFi services don’t have teams of cyber security professionals ensuring that their systems are secure.and it shouldn’t be of a concern when you use it for casual browsing and consuming media from the internet. But it becomes a matter of concern if you intent to access personal data and other private information or data related to your work.

3.Run the latest security patches.

One other thing people don’t care to notice or do regularly is update to the latest security patches when it is available since it does not bring much visual changes, but it does a lot more than you think. It is important than you think to not that all the systems you use to access internet needs to be updated to the latest version of security patch.

These update patches fix bugs that are present in the applications which hackers can use to compromise your data.Everything from the applications and browser to the operating systems need to be updates when the updates are available to avoid hackers from getting in.

4.Beware of your actions.

And last but not least be careful when you are surfing online and think twice before you do any action online. No matter how good of a security system you have maybe a simple fault from you can give a way for the hacker to get in.Make sure to not visit suspicious websites or feed your personal information in the wrong spaces.

And this can be done in case of organizations too,a mail to the wrong email address an employee is enough to being a huge catastrophe or breach, and yeah human mistakes are not unavoidable but we sure can reduce it by using wise practices and ensuring that it’s legit before sending and receiving data. And also by advising them with the latest cyber security measures.
